Assam tea is known for its strong, full-bodied flavour and robust, malty taste. The tea is characterised by its rich, dark leaves and strong aroma. When brewed, Assam tea has a deep reddish-brown colour and a robust, slightly bitter flavour with hints of sweetness and astringency. It is often described as having a "malty" taste, with notes of dark chocolate and dried fruit. Assam tea is known for its high levels of caffeine, making it a popular choice for early-morning tea drinkers - and is a brilliant option as a ‘Breakfast Tea.’

In addition to providing a burst of energy, regular consumption of Assam tea has been associated with several health benefits, offered by the anti-oxidants, polyphenols, and tannins that are present in Assam tea.
